Providing rest and restoration to the vulnerable of Portage County through holistic healing in the name of Jesus.
The Haven of Portage County is a rescue mission and warming center in Portage County that addresses each stage of homelessness and provides holistic healing through the power of the gospel. Our vision is that The Haven of Portage County is a place where the vulnerable can find not only a meal and a bed, but also hope and long-term healing. SPIRITUAL HEALING​
"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink,

​The foundation of our vision is the spiritual healing that is available to all through the work of Jesus Christ. By entering into our place and taking on our sin, Jesus frees us from the power of sin and invites us into a brand new life. It is this hope that drives us and this hope that we will offer to all who seek refuge at The Haven of Portage County.
EMOTIONAL HEALING

We want to provide a place for emotional healing for the vulnerable. Often beneath the challenge of homelessness lie deeper emotional issues that require time and assistance to navigate. By coordinating medical, detox, and counseling assistance, we will address the deeper emotional issues that can prevent people from flourishing.
PHYSICAL HEALING​
​
The most immediate challenges facing the homeless are the questions of food and housing. Low-barrier housing is in high demand in Portage County so our immediate goal is to provide a warm place on cold nights.
Our long-term vision is to create a system of graduated housing, offering one night, five night, thirty day, one year, and up to three year housing options. We will walk alongside individuals from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
INTELLECTUAL HEALING​

A handout can only go so far. At the Haven, we will offer a hand up through life skills and job skills training. Everything we do will be done with clients, not only for clients. Those who come to The Haven of Portage County will leave with the skills necessary to succeed in life.
